Five Desktop Apps to Supercharge your 2024!
As we start the countdown to 2024, here are the 5 (mostly free) apps I use every day (in no particular order) that have helped me save a ton of time this year:
- Notion: After using Evernote for 10 years, I finally made the move to Notion a couple of months ago. This app offers a free version and comes with a host of powerful features such as task-tracking, databases, templates etc. I use this app as a central repository of all my life’s data (sort of like a Personal OS) and it makes finding any information a breeze
- Dropbox: Having lost 2 laptops to spilt drinks, I finally shifted my entire hard drive to Dropbox in 2015. In addition to backing up all your files, Dropbox also instantly backs up the files on your Desktop and Downloads folder. I never have to worry about losing my laptop again as I can instantly access all my files from anywhere and also seamlessly sync it to a new system
- Cleanshot: With a host of advanced screen capturing features (>50) such as combining multiple images, draggin and dropping recent screenshots into any app, scrolling capture etc, this has soon become my go-to screen capturing tool to quickly capture and share information with customers and colleagues
- Grammarly: Another great free and simple app with the most user-friendly and non-intrusive UI; it reviews spelling, grammar, punctuation, clarity, engagement, detects plagiarism, and suggests replacements for the identified errors
- ScribeHow: My go-to app for showing any process as a step-by-step visual guide. It’s save you a ton of time by allowing you to make visual guides with a click of a button and then sharing with your team members
These five productivity apps are slowly but surely enhancing my efficiency and information organization. From streamlined task management to focused note-taking and collaborative project tracking, these apps have truly elevated my productivity. Incorporating them into your daily workflow could pave the way for a more organized, efficient, and successful professional life and help you Shoot to the Top!
If you have recommendations for any other great apps that you have been using (on your desktop), please do mention them in the comments section.
